Slow Farm is thrilled to be teaming up with Firesign Family Farm to host our first open house "taste education" event. If you'd like to cozy up in a lovely farmhouse, check out the farm, and experience the full spectrum of flavors, textures, and colors in the pumpkin and squash universe, this event is for you!
We're going to roast everything using the same method and give you the chance to try a dozen different varieties of squash and pumpkins either au naturel or blanketed with farm butter and cheese. Accompanied by delicious Breadhead rolls.
When: Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from 5:30-7:30pm
Where: Firesign Family Farm, 7500 Trotters Lane, Whitmore Lake, MI
Cost: Free, but suggested donation of $5-$10 appreciated
Please RSVP using the "Register" button so we know how many chairs to set up
This is a chance to discover heirlooms beyond tomatoes and the Slow Food Ark of Taste. Try for yourself how a Boston Marrow squash is different from a Delicata, and whether the Amish Pie Pumpkin is a better choice than the New England Pie Pumpkin. We think you'll be surprised.
It's fall y'all - hope to see you!
